Agenda and HW Reminders:
HW reminders: Finish your annotation and PEA paragraph for passage #3 of Oedipus. Prompt for PEA paragraph: How does this passage help convey a central message of this play? How do you know what you know? Agenda: Warm-up: Returning to themes in Oedipus... Let’s return to a few of our agree/disagree statements from the beginning of this unit and reconsider them now that we have read the story of Oedipus. 1. There is only one way to see things. 2. If you are in a position of power, you should be exempt from following certain rules/consequences. 3. It is easier to place blame on those around us than to look inside ourselves. 4. There is a fine line between pride and arrogance. Having too much pride is evil. Go back and look at what you initially had to say about these four statements. As we prepare to culminate our quick study of Oedipus, consider the following question: would Sophocles agree or disagree with these themes? Explain how you know what you know. Work time on annotating and writing about passage #3--handed out in class Comments are closed.
